What is Mild Hyperbaric Therapy?

Mild hyperbaric therapy refers to Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) at lower, safer pressures, offering many of the same benefits as traditional HBOT in a more accessible way.

General Information on the Chambers:

Our chambers are considered Mild Hyperbaric Chambers. These differ from the Hard chambers which are large rooms or acrylic tubes that you might see in a hospital or medical clinic Hard chambers operate at very high pressures with pure oxygen and require a trained hyperbaric technician. The Mild chambers operate at lower pressures and are pressurized with room air which contains approx. 21% Oxygen - therefore you are not in a flammable environment.  This is one of the reasons the FDA has approved the Mild Hyperbaric Chamber for in-home/in office use. To breathe a higher concentration of oxygen which offers maximum benefit, an oxygen concentrator is added to the chamber -- the patient then breathes the higher concentration of oxygen (approx.. 95% O2) through a mask while in the chamber.  

When your body is under 4 psi of pressure, the partial pressure of oxygen increases by about 33% when breathing room air (21%O2) – in other words your blood stream can absorb about 33% more O2 than under normal conditions. First, the red blood cells that carry 02 will max out at 100% then the extra O2 (33%) will be absorbed by the plasma where it can get to the cellular level and promote healing.  When you add in the Oxygen Concentrator, that benefit is almost quadrupled (about 124% of extra absorbtion).

In some clinical trials, there has been virtually no difference in clinical outcomes between mild and hard HBOT. Additionally, mild HBOT has no known safety risks such as fire or oxygen toxicity and is substantially less expensive .

The Oxygen Concentrator

The oxygen concentrator we offer is the Devilbiss 10L. The cost is currently $1600 to purchase. This model has an alarm which will sound if the power source is compromised OR if the oxygen purity falls below 85% O2.  This unit will provide about 95% Oxygen for you to breathe while in the chamber.  Shipping is not included with purchase.

Prescription

 If you are adding an oxygen concentrator to your chamber, your doctor can either write separate prescriptions – one that says “Hyperbaric Chamber for Home”, and one that says “Oxygen Concentrator” – OR may place both items on the same prescription “Hyperbaric Chamber for Home with Oxygen Concentrator.  You or your physician can email the prescription(s) to info@myrifemachine.com. Please include "Hyperbaric Chamber Prescription" in your subject header as well as the Order Number.

We can also accept a prescription/referral from a Licensed Naturopath (ND) in the following states: Arizona, Hawaii, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington State.

Return Policy

New products sold by My Rife Machine may be returned to the manufacturer within 15 days of purchase for a refund. To qualify for a full refund the customer MUST also contact Newtowne Hyperbarics NTH within 15 days of receipt of goods to get a Return Authorization Number. All items must be carefully packed, insured, and returned in original packaging. Customer assumes all responsibility for any damage and expenses incurred while shipping back to the factory. Refund may be reduced by fees incurred during sale including credit card fees and shipping costs included with sale.

Warranty Policy

Newtowne Hyperbarics warrants your product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 2 Years from the original date of purchase. If you discover a defect in a product covered by this warranty, we will repair at our option using new or refurbished components, or if repair is not possible, replace the item. This warranty covers defects in manufacturing discovered while using the product as recommended by the manufacturer. The warranty does not cover loss or theft, damage caused by misuse, abuse, unauthorized modification, improper storage conditions, lightning, or natural disasters. The cost of shipping to and from the factory is the responsibility of the owner. Should the product(s) fail, your sole recourse shall be repair or replacement, as described in the preceding paragraph. By installing or using the product, the user accepts all terms described herein.
